
Verónica Burriel got her degree as Technical Engineer in Management Computer Science at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain) in 2007. This year she was awarded with the Best Final Project Prize given by ABB during her one-year stay at Hogskolen i Bergen (Norway). Afterwards, she became Master in Biomedical Engineering in 2010 at Universidad de Valencia (Spain) and Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Spain). Nowadays, she is a full-time researcher in Centro de Investigación en Métodos de Producción de Software (PROS)since 2009 on which she developed her Master Thesis and she is doing her PhD. Her research is based on Information Technologies Applied to the Medicine and Genomics, specially focused on Clinical and Genomic Data Management related to Breast Cancer Patients. Some scientific publications as “Conceptual Modeling of Human Genome Mutations: A Dichotomy Between What We Have and What We Should Have”, “Design and Development of a Genomic Information System to Manage Breast Cancer Data”, “Genetic Testing Information Standardization in HL7 CDA and ISO13606” or “Conceptual Schema of Breast Cancer: the background to design an efficient information system to manage data from diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients” show her expertise in this research area.
